Returns & Refunds
Effective September 24, 2026
Bought the wrong part, or changed your mind? Most parts can come back. Because parts ship from our suppliers, every return goes through us first — please don't send anything back to the supplier on your own.
The return window
You can return parts within 30 days of delivery if they are unused, uninstalled, and in their original packaging, with all hardware, manuals, and labels included.
What can't be returned
- Electrical and electronic parts once installed or wired in (ignition, sensors, regulators, switches, modules) — they can't be resold as new once powered. Unopened electrical parts are returnable as normal.
- Opened fluids, chemicals, sealants, and paint.
- Special-order or cut-to-order items — anything marked special order, custom-pitched props, cut hose, or cable.
- Freight items can be returned only by arrangement; return freight is at your cost unless we made a mistake.
None of this limits returns for parts that are defective, damaged in transit, or wrong because of our mistake — see below.
How to start a return
- Email support@thenasty.ai with your order number (it starts with
NSTY-), which parts you're returning, and why. Photos help. - We reply with a return authorization and the supplier's return address (and a prepaid label when the return is on us).
- Pack the parts securely in their original packaging, write the authorization number on the outside, and ship with tracking.
- Once the supplier receives and checks the parts, we issue your refund.
Returns that arrive without an authorization, or at the wrong address, may be refused or delayed.
Who pays return shipping
- Our mistake — we pay. If we sent the wrong part, or our fitment data said a part fits your engine or boat and it doesn't, we send a prepaid label and refund the part and your original shipping in full (or send the right part at no extra cost).
- Defective or damaged — we pay. See the next two sections.
- Change of mind or ordered the wrong part — you pay return shipping, and the original shipping charge isn't refunded. We don't charge a restocking fee.
Damaged in transit or missing
Report damage — or a package marked delivered that you never received — within 7days of delivery. Email your order number with photos of the outer box, the shipping label, and the damaged part, and keep all the packaging until the claim is settled. We'll send a replacement or refund at no cost to you.
Defective parts and warranty
If a part is defective within the return window, we'll replace or refund it and cover return shipping. After that, the manufacturer's warranty applies; it passes through to you, and we'll help you file the claim.
Refunds
- Refunds go back to your original payment method through Stripe, our payment processor. We can't refund to a different card or as cash.
- We issue the refund within 3 business days of the supplier receiving your return, and email you when we do.
- Your bank then usually takes 5–10 business days to show it on your statement.
- Parts that come back used, installed, or incomplete may get a partial refund; we'll tell you before we process it.
Canceling an order
Email us as soon as possible. If the supplier hasn't shipped yet, we cancel and refund in full. Once a package has shipped, it's handled as a return. Unpaid checkouts simply expire — nothing is charged.
Exchanges
The fastest way to get a different part is to order it now and return the first one. If the swap is because of our mistake, tell us and we'll ship the right part first.
Check an order
See packages, tracking, and refunds on your order page (linked from your confirmation email) or on the order status page. Shipping times and delays are covered in our Shipping Policy.
